When the stock count is wrong
Why the app asks for a recount after an offline day, what it does to the number, and how to put the shelf and the screen back in agreement.
Last updated
An offline sale is never rejected when it reaches the server. The customer has already walked out with the goods, so refusing the sale hours later would only make the records disagree with what happened.
What the app does instead
If a sale takes an item below zero, the count is clamped at zero, the item is flagged, and you are asked to recount it. The sale stands. Nothing is silently corrected behind your back and nothing is thrown away.
Putting it right
- Open Today and tap “Recount now”. It lists only the items that disagree — usually two or three, not the whole shelf.
- Count what is actually on the shelf for each one.
- Type that number in. That is now the count, and the flag clears.
If the same item keeps coming back
An item that needs recounting every week is usually one being sold in a unit it is not counted in — a carton bought and sold loose, or a kilo priced by the packet. Open the item and check the unit is the one you actually sell in. Every quantity in this app carries its unit, so getting that right once stops the drift.
