You know which generic each one is; the app does not, and does not claim to. What it does is bill the pack you hand over, against the batch it came from, with the expiry recorded — and leave the substitution where it belongs, which is with the pharmacist.
Billing App for Jan Aushadhi KendraA Jan Aushadhi counter, where the medicine has no brand on it
जेनेरिक नाम, पत्ते नहीं पैकेट, बैच और तारीख़ — और लाइसेंस भी एक तारीख़ की तरह।
Generic names, packs rather than strips, batches with dates, and your licence held as a date.

A customer with a prescription written in brand names
A Jan Aushadhi Kendra opens on today's sales, the same as the rest of the health family. The expiry work is not a figure on the home screen — it is held against the batch and looked at when you look at the item.
Three things that are different here
Personalisation in this product is defaults, a bounded set of tools, and vocabulary — never a separate app per trade. What follows is the whole of what changes.
Pack is the default unit, not piece
The only trade on this site where it is. Generics move as whole packs far more than they move as cut strips, so the list opens at pack and piece sits second — the reverse of a branded chemist's counter.
Batch and expiry, not just a count
Two packs of the same molecule with different expiry dates are two batches, and the nearer one sells first. The shelf is not one number.
Your licence, and when it runs out
The licence number prints on the bill and its expiry is a date the app holds, alongside a chemist, a fertilizer dealer and a paan shop — the four live trades where a lapsed licence is discovered by an inspector rather than by a calendar.
What a jan aushadhi kendra gets on the first screen
Not a demo. This is the actual configuration the app applies when you pick Jan Aushadhi Kendra at sign-up — the same data the app itself reads.
The units, in this order
- Pack
- Piece
- Ml
- G
The first one is the default, because it is what this trade sells most of. Every quantity in the app carries its unit — there is no bare number anywhere.
The tools this turns on
- Stock, in units
- Batch and expiry dates
- Licence number and its expiry
And nothing else. A trade is only offered at sign-up once every tool it needs has actually shipped — 59 of 172 trades pass that test today.
The items it starts you with
Tap to add, then set your own price. They are a guess at your shelf and you will correct some of them — that is expected, and it is why they live on the server rather than inside an app release.

Twelve of 29. The rest of the pack is in the app — this table is here so you can check the list is really your shelf, and a dozen rows settles that faster than 29 does.
Low-stock warnings start at 10, which is a starting point for this trade rather than a rule. Change it per item.
58 others have a page, and 59 trades are live
Each of these is a different unit list, a different set of tools and a different first figure — not this page with a word swapped. The nearest ones first.
Try it on your counter
Free, on Google Play, and set up by you in the time it takes to put ten items in — the ones you sell most. The rest of the shelf goes in as it sells.
