Billing App for Utensils & Bartan ShopA bartan counter, where steel is sold two different ways

थाली एक पीस, और थालियों का बंडल किलो में — जिस हिसाब से बेचें, वही चलेगा।

A thali is one piece, and a bundle of them is a weight — the app carries whichever you sell by.

AT THE COUNTER

A dinner set, a pressure cooker, and forty glasses

12:10 pm, wedding season

The set is one pack, the cooker is one piece and the glasses are counted. Three lines, three quantities, one total — and the customer wants it wrapped before the muhurat, not after you have finished adding.

A utensils shop opens on **this month's sales**. The trade runs in seasons rather than days — weddings, Dhanteras, a run of housewarmings — and a quiet Wednesday in a good month is not the same information as a quiet Wednesday in a bad one.

SAME APP, YOUR SHOP

Three things that are different here

Personalisation in this product is defaults, a bounded set of tools, and vocabulary — never a separate app per trade. What follows is the whole of what changes.

Kilo is in the list, and it matters

Piece, pack, kilo, dozen. Most of the shelf is objects, but steel is bought by weight and some of it is sold that way too, so the unit is there rather than being something you round into pieces.

A set is a pack, not fifty-one items

A dinner set goes on the bill once, at one price, as one pack. The app does not make you decompose a set into its pieces to sell it, and it does not decrement fifty-one shelf counts when you do.

Low stock starts at three

Deliberately low. This is a deep-and-narrow shelf — a few of many things, some of them large — and a threshold borrowed from a kirana would warn you about everything at once, which is the same as warning you about nothing.

WHAT ARRIVES SET UP

What a utensils & crockery gets on the first screen

Not a demo. This is the actual configuration the app applies when you pick Utensils & Crockery at sign-up — the same data the app itself reads.

The units, in this order

  • Piece
  • Pack
  • Kg
  • Dozen

The first one is the default, because it is what this trade sells most of. Every quantity in the app carries its unit — there is no bare number anywhere.

The tools this turns on

  • Stock, in units

And nothing else. A trade is only offered at sign-up once every tool it needs has actually shipped — 59 of 172 trades pass that test today.

The items it starts you with

Tap to add, then set your own price. They are a guess at your shelf and you will correct some of them — that is expected, and it is why they live on the server rather than inside an app release.

The starter items Karobari offers a utensils & crockery, with the unit each is counted in.

Twelve of 27. The rest of the pack is in the app — this table is here so you can check the list is really your shelf, and a dozen rows settles that faster than 27 does.

Low-stock warnings start at 3, which is a starting point for this trade rather than a rule. Change it per item.

Getting the shelf in, honestly timed

Try it on your counter

Free, on Google Play, and set up by you in the time it takes to put ten items in — the ones you sell most. The rest of the shelf goes in as it sells.
