In every other kind of shop, changing a price is an occasional administrative act. Here it is the morning's work, so it is a fast screen rather than a buried one.
Billing App for Vegetable & Fruit ShopA sabzi counter, where the rate changes before the shop opens
आज का भाव अलग है — और उसे बदलना पहला काम है, कोई सेटिंग नहीं।
The rate is different today, and changing it is the first thing you do — not a settings screen.

Back from the mandi, and eleven rates have moved
A sabzi shop opens on today's sales, and today is the only unit that means anything — yesterday's rate is not today's rate and last month's total is a different vegetable.
Three things that are different here
Personalisation in this product is defaults, a bounded set of tools, and vocabulary — never a separate app per trade. What follows is the whole of what changes.
Kilos and grams before anything else
Then pieces, then dozens. A lemon is a piece, coriander is fifty grams, and bananas are a dozen — all three in one bill without a thought.
Rate change is the primary action
Most trades' main job is adding stock. Here it is re-rating what is already there, and the app is arranged around that rather than around a stock-in flow borrowed from a kirana.
Nothing waits for a signal
The busiest hour is the one with the worst network, and a vegetable shop's busiest hour is not negotiable.
What a vegetables & fruits gets on the first screen
Not a demo. This is the actual configuration the app applies when you pick Vegetables & Fruits at sign-up — the same data the app itself reads.
The units, in this order
- Kg
- G
- Piece
- Dozen
The first one is the default, because it is what this trade sells most of. Every quantity in the app carries its unit — there is no bare number anywhere.
The tools this turns on
- Stock, in units
And nothing else. A trade is only offered at sign-up once every tool it needs has actually shipped — 59 of 172 trades pass that test today.
The items it starts you with
Tap to add, then set your own price. They are a guess at your shelf and you will correct some of them — that is expected, and it is why they live on the server rather than inside an app release.
| Item | नाम | Counted in |
|---|---|---|
| Potato | आलू | Kg |
| Onion | प्याज़ | Kg |
| Tomato | टमाटर | Kg |
| Banana | केला | Dozen |
| Apple | सेब | Kg |
| Coriander | धनिया | G |
| Chilli | मिर्च | G |
| Lemon | नींबू | Piece |
| Cabbage | पत्ता गोभी | Kg |
| Cauliflower | फूलगोभी | Piece |
| Brinjal | बैंगन | Kg |
| Lady finger | भिंडी | Kg |
Twelve of 34. The rest of the pack is in the app — this table is here so you can check the list is really your shelf, and a dozen rows settles that faster than 34 does.
Low-stock warnings start at 3, which is a starting point for this trade rather than a rule. Change it per item.
58 others have a page, and 59 trades are live
Each of these is a different unit list, a different set of tools and a different first figure — not this page with a word swapped. The nearest ones first.
Try it on your counter
Free, on Google Play, and set up by you in the time it takes to put ten items in — the ones you sell most. The rest of the shelf goes in as it sells.
